Chase Bank 2nd Lien Program

The Chase Bank 2nd Lien Program is just like many other financial institutions’ programs with the same aim, to help keep homeowners in their homes and stop any foreclosures from occurring, if possible.

Chase made the announcement on March 22, 2010 that they were joining the federal government’s Home Affordability Modification Program.  Chase had already started to help homeowners in 2009 by offering nearly 600,000 homeowners the chance to modify their existing loans. Dozens of centers which have been set up for Chase customers to have a one on one financial counseling session with Chase employees have already been opened, and the aim of 51 by Spring of 2010 is starting to take shape.

As part of this 2nd lien program or 2MP, many homeowners could see a 1% interest reduction on their second mortgage for up to 5 years. If Chase holds your first mortgage then you must first have the primary mortgage go through the trial modification process to qualify for this program.

The department head of home lending at Chase, David Lowman was quoted as saying,” We have invested significant resources to modify mortgages and keep more families in their homes. This program makes it easier to coordinate with other servicers by using consistent 2MP standards.”

If your first mortgage is not through Chase, you can still qualify for the 2MP with Chase. For more details, please view Chase online banking at the Chase home website for more information.

The Chase Bank 2nd Lien Program is there to help you stay in your home.
